  6.     The GTDOORS.BBS file lists the available doors as seen by callers.
  7.  
  8.     It is pure text and can be prepared in any format.  The simplest format
  9.     just lists the door numbers and purpose, for example :
  10.  
  11.         <1>     Change your Password
  12.         <2>     Chess
  13.         <3>     Scrabble
  14.         <4>
  15.                 ... etc.

  17.     As the layout of the list has no significance to GT, it could equally
  18.     well be presented as a double column.

  20.     A .CBS version of this file can also be created.  If it exists, ANSI
  21.     callers will see GTDOORS.CBS rather than GTDOORS.BBS.

  23.     There is no automatic mechanism for asking GT to 'leave out' lines to
  24.     this file depending on caller access level.  Callers normally either
  25.     see this file in its entirety (if they have Door Permission) or not at
  26.     all. It *is* possible, though, to run a program in the Log-On Door
  27.     which creates a customised GTDOORS.BBS file determined by the access
  28.     level of the caller.  Various programs of that type already exist -
  29.     other local GT boards may have one available for download.

  36.     GT will support up to 999 doors.  If you use more than about 20 doors,
  37.     it will often make sense to use door sub-menus.  In this case, the
  38.     GTDOORS.BBS will usually list only the door sub-menus, for example :

  40.                        G.  Game Doors
  41.                        D.  Database Doors
  42.                        U.  Utility Doors

  44.     though there is no reason why the main door menu should not also list
  45.     some numeric doors if you wish it to.

  47.     GT can support 26 door sub-menus, identified as A to Z.  Callers
  48.     selecting one of these sub-menus will then see a list of doors
  49.     appropriate to that classification.

  51.     Notes:  a)  Using door sub-menus does not prevent callers who know a
  52.                 door number from calling the door direct, eg O 22 is just
  53.                 as good as O G 22 if the caller knows in advance that door
  54.                 22 (which you have listed in sub-menu G) is wanted.

  56.             b)  The door sub-menus can be edited using another GT-Help menu
  57.                 option, where more information is available.
